Why we exist

Three problems we're solving

🌏

Language is a barrier to math

Most online math is English-only. Millions of students in the Philippines, the Filipino diaspora, and bilingual classrooms have never had rigorous math explained in their home language. Every Numberbender lesson exists in both English and Filipino.

💸

Cost locks students out

Tutoring is $50–$120 an hour. Test prep courses cost hundreds. Students at under-resourced schools get less. Numberbender gives every student — regardless of what their family earns — access to the same quality instruction.

🏫

Educators need better tools

Most teachers learn to teach online through trial and error. Numberbender's free resources — worksheets, flipped classroom guides, video production training — exist because educators deserve the same support their students do.

Open Educational Resources

Free forever — by design

The "free" isn't a marketing tactic. It's structural. All Numberbender content is openly licensed under Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0) — meaning educators and institutions can use, adapt, and share it without asking for permission.

🔓

No login. No paywall.

Every video, every worksheet, every answer key — available instantly, no account required. We don't capture your data to unlock content.

📄

CC BY 4.0 licensed

All original content can be shared, remixed, and used in other educational materials as long as credit is given to Peter Esperanza / Numberbender. That's it.

🎓

C-ID aligned for California

Course materials map to the statewide C-ID standard used by all 116 California community colleges — making it easy for instructors to drop them into any LMS as OER supplements.

Three ways to help

The best thing you can do is use the free resources. The second best thing is share them. Everything else is icing.
