He didn't just study online teaching. He built it from scratch.
In 2012, Dr. Peter Esperanza started recording math videos for his high school algebra students after school. He had no studio, no following, and no roadmap. He just knew his students needed something better than the textbook.
Over the next decade he recorded 800+ YouTube lessons, earned a Silver Play Button, presented his research at conferences in Europe and Asia, trained hundreds of educators, and built a nonprofit to make sure everything stayed free.
When he teaches educators how to teach online, he's not sharing theory. He's sharing the exact system he built and tested in his own classroom for over 20 years.

I was hesitant to record my first video — it always felt awkward and I cringed watching myself back. Dr. E told me to focus on the students in my classroom and ignore the noise of who else might watch, and that one shift unlocked it. I found a skill I never thought I could do.
Dr. E's flipped classroom model completely changed how I approach math instruction. My students come to class having already watched the concept — and now our class time is spent actually doing math together, not just watching me lecture. The difference in engagement is night and day.
